When does a dog become a fat dog?

Thin
Ribs, lumbar vertebrae and hip bones clearly visible. No subcutaneous fat. Clearly defined waist and belly flank.
Ideal weight
Ribs can be felt, no significant subcutaneous fat. Light waist visible from above. Belly flank still visible from the side.
Fat
Ribs can hardly be felt, thick layer of fat. Fat deposits at the loins and base of the tail. No waist at all. No flank, clearly defined belly.

Feeding recommendation:

Special diet to be fed for a short period as the sole diet to achieve the dog‘s ideal weight or to alleviate digestive problems. Supplement with BEWI DOG® canned food or fresh meat if fed over a long period of time. Average values for limited sole feeding of fully grown dogs with normal levels of activity are listed in the table below. The right quantity of food is best determined by regularly monitoring the weight of the dog. Soak the food in warm water. Fresh drinking water should always be available.
